Hi Shark Family!

We're so excited to announce that we will be partnering with the Alburtis Social Quarters to collect and distribute holiday meals to individuals/families in need this holiday season! Seeing the overwhelming requests of families in need for Thanksgiving meals sparked the idea of assembling meals for local families for the holidays. This will be a quick task, as we only have a few weeks before the holidays, and we're hoping for your help to make this successful! We're looking for parts of the meals and volunteers for a couple hours to help assemble the meals for pick up (perfect activity for our kiddos!). I attached 2 flyers and they will be posted on Facebook as well- one is announcing our meal drive and the other is information for in need individuals to reach out. Feel free to share them as well!

Meals: We will be collecting supplies starting now and ending December 15th- this will give us time to review what both organizations have and shop for anything else we need. Our goal is to assemble 15 meals, but we all know how awesome the Sharks are at surpassing goals- and the Social Quarters has the same mindset! Each meal will consist of a small ham (2-5lbs), 2 veggies, mashed potatoes, rolls, a boxed dessert (cake mix with icing or brownies), and a drink. I will send out a Sign up Genius to better track what we have and will add space if needed. We'd love for you to donate what you can- a part of a meal, a whole meal, monetary donation for us to do the shopping, brown paper bags, and/or time to assemble the meals. At this time, we have drinks covered! If there is any left over food after the pick up date (planned for Friday, December 22nd in the morning), it will be donated to a local food panty.

Drop offs: Drop off locations will be at Chrissy's house (206 Park Lane, Alburtis) or the Alburtis Social Quarters during hours of operation (if you aren't a member, my house will be your better option:)) I'm also able to meet locally if needed. If you'd prefer a monetary donation, you can Venmo Chrissy and put "Holiday Meal Drive" in the memo (@Christine-Smith-1158) and I'll do the shopping for you!

Assembling: We will assemble and distribute the meals Friday, December 22nd in the morning most likely at the Social Quarters. Depending on the amount of volunteers, we aren't expecting this to take long.

Families in Need: The 2nd flyer has myself and Scot Smith listed as contacts for those who are interested in a meal. Our hope is to help as many families as possible, but depending on the response, it could be a first come, first serve basis. We're asking that they reach out to us before December 13th so that we can do our best to provide for as many people as possible.
